Utilizing Energy-Efficient Technology

to Take Smiles to a Whole New Level

If you’re looking for the latest in dental technology but with a personal touch, look no further than Lake Forest Dentistry. Owned by Dennis Horanic, DMD, the practice has been on the cutting edge of dentistry since first opening in 1999.

Lake Forest Dentistry already offers the latest in dental technology including digital x-rays and records, teeth whitening, cavity detection and laser gum recontouring.

And now Horanic has raised the bar even higher by moving to a new location that doubles the office in size and offers state-of-the-art technology with the latest procedures and equipment.

“One of the new features in our office is a state-of-the-art dental water line treatment system that will eliminate bacteria in the water lines,” says Horanic. “We are implementing a new seven-stage filtration process to help keep the lines even more sterile, offering the purest water to be used during our procedures.”

“Questions have been posed about the amount of bacteria present in the small lines supplying water to the dentist's drills and scalers. We believe there is enough significant information present in studies to be proactive in our new office,” adds Horanic. “Our Vista Clear system is designed to prevent colonies of bacteria from ever developing. Many older offices will have difficulty cleansing their lines since colonies of bacteria have already existed for years and retrofitting the system may not be possible. From day one, we intend to ensure this never occurs and will provide the cleanest water possible."

The new office operates on 100 percent solar power and features LED lighting throughout. The goal is to leave little to no environmental footprint. And it’s not just about using energy, but also giving back to the system by creating energy. Patients get a glimpse first-hand as to how their appointment contributes to renewable energy by watching a monitor in the waiting area that displays how much power the office is actually generating. In addition to these green options, Lake Forest Dentistry will be eventually integrating iPads into the practice, allowing patients to interact with their own x-rays up close and personally.

The new office is going green outside as well with solar power options, sustainable landscaping and renewable energy options. “For us, it’s not just about taking care of our patients inside their mouth, but to also take care of the environment around them, both inside and outside our building,” says Horanic. “It’s just one of the ways we can give back to the community and environment around us.”

A graduate of the University of Florida and a lifelong resident of Central Florida, Horanic is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando. He regularly attends continuing education seminars and workshops, striving to be informed on the latest in technological advances and techniques to provide his patients. Horanic has been named one of Orlando’s Top Dentists for the last seven years.
